The Gibson D. Lewis Health Sciences Library of the University of North Texas Health Science Center at Fort Worth (UNTHSC) is accepting applications for the position of Library Specialist (Reference Paraprofessional).

 

Position Duties:
The Reference Paraprofessional is responsible for providing reference assistance, departmental project support and clerical support for the Public Services, Technical Services and Administrative units of the Gibson D. Lewis Health Sciences Library.

The Reference Paraprofessional provides one-on-one (in-person), phone and online assistance to patrons in the use of library research tools. Patrons include faculty, students, staff, community visitors, corporations and others. This position also provides support and assistance to librarians with any ongoing projects in the areas of Reference, Electronic Resources, Instruction, Web Services, Outreach, Collection Development, Technical Services and Administration. Additionally, this position provides clerical support to all librarians within the Public Service, Technical Service and Administrative departments. The Reference Paraprofessional reports to the Deputy Director.

 

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree. Good Communication skills. Excellent organizational skills.

 

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in a Library Public Services Department. Customer Service experience.

 

Hours:

Full-time (40 hours per week). 8:00 am – 5:00 pm Monday through Friday.
