SWALL is pleased to announce the Lung Scholarship for library/law school students. The Scholarship is an effort to encourage students to enter the field of law librarianship and membership and participation in SWALL. It is acknowledged that the recipient will use (at least part of) the funds to attend the SWALL Annual Meeting.
For 2014, the Lung Scholarship will be $500.
To qualify: The scholarship recipient must be a resident of, or attending an ALA-accredited library school in, one of the SWALL states. Law Library Fellows and law students holding library degrees within the SWALL territory are also eligible. The applicant must be interested in law librarianship and plan to work in a law library.
Applicants shall submit an application package containing a Curriculum Vitae, a statement on the reasons for their possible attendance of the SWALL Annual Meeting, and two (2) recommendations. The statement regarding attendance at the Annual Meeting may be in the form of, or part of, a cover letter.
After the Annual Meeting, the recipient will send a brief report of their experience at the meeting to the Grants Committee Chair. This report will be published in the SWALL Bulletin and on the SWALL website. Application packages should be sent to the Grants Committee Chair, David Gay, no later than March 1, 2014.
