Meet your 2014-15 Houston LISSA Officers

Here are your 2014-15 Houston LISSA Officers:

Kristine Greive (President) is from Houston, TX. She has a BFA in writing, literature, and publishing from Emerson College, as well as an MFA in creative writing from the University of Washington.  Her primary library interests are academic libraries and special collections, especially rare books and book arts. She collects stories about ghosts, detectives, and ghost detectives.

Misha Burgett (Vice President) is technically from Massachusetts, but has lived in Houston most of her life. She has a master's in Art History from University of Houston, where she concentrated on early 20th century art, and a bachelor's in Art History with a minor in Photography, also from the University of Houston. Combining interests in art and LIS, she’d love to end up in an art library, preferably in reference. As of now, she’s working in the archives at the Museum of Fine Arts, and has a love for archives and special collections as well. In her free time, she loves to garden, cook, hang out with her cat Jojo, and work on a research project she recently started called Houston Histories.

Carrie Saxby Toombs  (Secretary) is also from Houston. She graduated from University of Houston in 2011 with a BA in Philosophy and a double minor in Spanish/Public Relations. She is interested in reference and information seeking behaviors. Her dream job would be to work at the NPR library in Washington, D.C.

Please come meet them and some of your other classmates and colleagues at the first Houston LISSA Social Event (see announcement below), and feel free to contact any of them, or the Houston Program Student Coordinator, John Martin, with any questions at: houstonlissa@gmail.com
