The Texas Chapter of the Special Libraries Association is offering one (1) stipend for a student member to attend the 2014 SLA Annual Conference in Vancouver, B.C., June 8-10. The stipend is valued up to $750. The chapter will arrange for the registration and the rest of the stipend is available to the winning students for hotel and travel to be arranged by the individual.
Qualifications and Requirements:
1. Currently enrolled degree –seeking student in a library and information science Master’s degree program.
2. Complete online application form at https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/TexasChapterStudentStipend by March 21 at 5 pm CST.
3. SLA and Texas Chapter member by April 1st 2014. Proof of membership needs to be provided.
4. Receipts for hotel and travel required for reimbursement.
5. Attendance at a variety of conference events.
6. Meet with Texas Chapter representative for orientation to the Annual Conference.
7. Serve on a committee or special project activity for the Texas Chapter.
8. Winner will present at a Texas Chapter Annual meeting in 2014-2015 or lead a webinar discussing his or her conference experiences.
** Selected student will be notified by midnight (CST) on March 25th .
