Education: Master's degree instructional technology, education, library science, communications, information technology, information sciences, curriculum design or related field.
Experience: Five years experience in course design, curriculum design, training, or e-learning, preferably in higher education preferred. Experience with graphic and multimedia authoring software and website design software required. Certificate in Online Instruction or appropriate graduate-level coursework required. Experience with online course management tools preferred. Certification as a peer reviewer in Quality Matters preferred. The Quality Matters certification may be earned on the job.
Duties: Leads the development and supports effort for instruction at the campus or center level. Supervises other ID’s (ID Is and IIs) located at the campus or center. Collaborates with faculty, program staff and librarians using instructional and program design expertise. Leads efforts to develop specialized educational programs. Leads and manages the instructional development process, setting standards for assisting faculty and librarians in the design of instruction for courses and programs, development of learning resources, and re-visioning of courses and/or course segments to electronic delivery methods. Serves as the Instructional Design Lead for a campus and/or center. Performs daily ID work and performs special project work simultaneously. Supports Teaching and Learning with Technology and Library efforts separately and collaboratively by managing and leading project work. Work is performed under limited supervision and performance is based upon completion of assignments and results obtained. The performance evaluation is conducted through the performance evaluation system and in accordance with the University Policies & Procedures.
